Your known midwife in Bondi, from pregnancy to six weeks after birth.

Home or hospital, your birth, your call. I'll be beside you either way. From Bondi, I come to you. North Sydney to Sans Souci, and across to Marrickville.

There's a big difference between being seen for appointments and being truly known.

Walking into a hospital to be cared for by strangers? That's wild to me.

With me, you know your midwife. I come to your home for every pregnancy visit. I get to know your history, your hopes, your partner and your cat, and I'll happily play trains with your three-year-old. So when labour starts, you're calling someone who already knows you. And once your baby's here, I keep coming to you for six weeks.

One midwife, start to finish

01 Pregnancy

About 10 visits in your home, from around 12 weeks. An hour each, never rushed. We talk your options through properly, and your decisions lead.

02 Birth

At home, I'm your midwife, with full clinical care and a second midwife. In hospital, I'm your known midwife beside you, your support and advocate, while the hospital team provides your clinical care.

03 Six weeks after

Home visits for the first six weeks, for feeding, recovery, settling and the big feelings. It's the part the hospital system doesn't cover, and it's care that makes a real difference.

Care built around you

A small caseload, on purpose. I take only 3–4 women a month, so I'm there for you 24/7 and rarely have clashes.

Home or hospital, no agenda. I'm as comfortable in a hospital birth suite as I am in your lounge room, and I won't push you either way. If you want an epidural, that's your jam.

No strangers at your birth. For home births, your second midwife is part of your care. If it's important to you, you can meet her before the big day.

Experience in both worlds. Most of my career has been in a freestanding birth centre, and I've also worked in busy hospitals, including the Royal Hospital for Women. I know when interventions help, and when they don't.

You're at the centre. Evidence-based care, explained in plain language. Nothing happens without your full understanding and consent. Your care is built around you.

Hi, I'm Monica. Birth is in my blood.

I was born at home in a little yellow cottage in New Zealand, and my birth inspired my mum to become a midwife. I was at my first home birth at four, one of the little row of faces at the end of the bed.

My own boys' births were strong and low-intervention. But my early postpartum was hard and lonely, and that's a big part of why I do this.

A Birth Story

As a first-time mum, I was very aware of how easy it can be to get pulled into interventions when you don’t feel confident navigating the system. I wanted a birth that felt calm, and intuitive, but still within the safety of the hospital. I was also looking for someone who could help me trust my body and guide me throughout the process — and Monica did that beautifully!

She never pushed a particular path, but instead gave me the clarity and confidence to make decisions for myself. When my baby was breech, and later when questions came up around amniotic fluid and potential induction, she helped us understand our options without feeling overwhelmed or pressured. I always felt informed, supported, and empowered.

Something I really valued was how much she included my partner. She prepared us as a team, which meant we both felt calm and confident going into the birth.

In the end, our birth unfolded as an unexpected home birth — and it became such a special, unforgettable experience. I felt calm, safe, and able to fully trust the process in a way I don’t think I would have without Monica. The hours after were beautiful — I felt so respected and cared for, and able to fully take in those first moments with our baby.

The six weeks of support after birth were also incredibly special. Having Monica regularly check in, guide us, and care for both me and the baby filled a gap that the hospital system simply doesn’t cover. It made such a difference to how supported and held we felt during that transition.

I’m so grateful to have had Monica by our side and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone wanting a supported and empowering birth experience!!

I take only 3–4 women a month, so spaces often go early. Reach out sooner if you can.

But it's never too late to ask. For some women, their gut instinct kicks in closer to 30 weeks, and changing their care suddenly feels important. There might be a spot waiting just for you.

“I love the birth of mamas, and believe that through good care you can affect someone’s mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health for the better during this pivotal rite of passage.”
