Private midwifery care, home or hospital

One known midwife, from early pregnancy to six weeks after your baby is born. One package, however you birth.

Your package: $6,500

One fee for full continuity of care, home or hospital, for Medicare card holders. I bulk-bill your pregnancy and postnatal visits, so there are no rebates to chase and no extra costs from me. If you need more visits or more support, you get it, and you don't pay more.

No Medicare card? Your package is $8,000. That's the same care, plus $1,500 because I can't bulk-bill your visits.

What's included

  • About 10 pregnancy visits in your home, from around 12 weeks, about an hour each

  • 24/7 phone contact with me from the day you book

  • Me, on call for your labour and birth, at home or in hospital

  • For home births: a second midwife you can meet beforehand, a birth pool, and all equipment and consumables

  • Six weeks of postnatal care in your home

  • Pathology and ultrasound requests, and prescriptions for common pregnancy medications, as you choose

  • Travel, always. I come to you.

Tests and scans are separate. Most are Medicare-billed, and any usual gap fees apply.

I take only 3–4 women a month, so I always have time for you.

01 Pregnancy

Every pregnancy visit happens in your home, and your partner and kids are welcome. No car seats, no waiting rooms, no taking time off work.

We start with a long get-to-know-you chat, then your booking visit at around 12–14 weeks, then regular checks that get closer together as your baby grows. At each visit I check on you and your baby, and we talk through whatever's on your mind: tests, scans, fears, plans, and the questions you thought were too small to ask.

You get clear, evidence-based information, explained properly, and you make the decisions. Care is not a Happy Meal. Just because you got the burger doesn't mean you need the fries.

02 Birth

Planned home birth

At home, I'm your midwife, providing your full clinical care from labour through to the hours after birth. My second midwife joins us, so there are two experienced midwives in the room and no strangers.

I bring a birth pool, everything we need for a safe birth, and full emergency equipment. If you need to transfer to hospital, I come with you and stay until your baby is born.

After your baby arrives, the care continues. I'm there for those golden hours, keeping a close clinical eye on you both until you're fed, settled and snuggled up in bed.

Planned hospital birth

Not less. Different.

If you're birthing in hospital, I'm with you from early labour at home until you're settled after your baby is born. In hospital, the midwives and doctors there provide your clinical care. My role is different, not less. I'm the midwife who knows you, your history and your wishes, and that changes how your whole birth feels.

We go in as a three-legged stool: you, me and your support people. Together we keep you steady, so nobody tips over when things get hard. And if you've got a doula on board too? You get to be the seat.

What I do when you birth in hospital

  • Care for you in early labour at home, so you go in at the right time

  • Come in with you and stay throughout

  • Explain what's being offered in plain language, and help you weigh it up

  • Speak up for your preferences when you need me to

  • Use positions, movement, rebozo, acupressure and comfort measures to help labour along

  • Support your partner, so they can support you

  • Stay until you're settled, then keep caring for you at home for six weeks

Breaking your waters at 4 cm isn't "slow progress". It's an induction. Knowing the difference in the moment is exactly what I'm there for.

03 The six weeks after

The weeks after birth are when women most often feel alone, and it's where I think care matters most. I visit you at home for six weeks, and I'm a phone call away, day or night.

For you: recovery and healing, a debrief of your birth, emotional support, breastfeeding or bottle feeding support, and help finding your feet as a family.

For your baby: well-baby checks, weighing and measuring, feeding assessments, jaundice checks, newborn screening, vitamin K if you choose it, and help with settling, sleep, skin, cord care and bath time.

Extra skills I bring

These are part of your care, not add-ons.

  • Acupressure: simple techniques you and your partner can use in pregnancy and labour

  • Spinning Babies and optimal maternal positioning: movement and positions to help your baby find their way

  • Feeding support: practical, hands-on help in your own home

  • Perineal care: advanced training in perineal repair

Is this the right care for you?

My care suits you if you want to know your midwife, make informed choices and keep birth as physiological as you can, wherever you birth. I also welcome women with complexity, like anxiety, IVF, being over 40 or a medical condition. That's often where a known midwife helps most.

If you're planning to keep a private obstetrician as your main carer, my care probably isn't the right fit. The two approaches tend to pull in different directions. I'm always happy to talk it through.

Where I care for women

Based in Bondi, I care for women from North Sydney down to Sans Souci and across to Marrickville.
